Nurse
Location: Berkeley Preparatory Academy

Reports To: Principal
Position Overview:
The School Nurse is responsible for providing healthcare services to students and staff. This role involves administering medications, managing chronic health conditions, and providing emergency care as needed.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide first aid and emergency care to students and staff.

Administer prescribed medications and maintain accurate records of medication administration.

Monitor and track students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes).

Provide health education to students and staff on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and illness prevention.

Coordinate with parents and medical professionals to address students’ health needs.

Ensure compliance with all state and federal health regulations.

Maintain student health records and confidentiality.

Participate in health screenings and immunization tracking.

Any other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid South Carolina nursing license.

Experience in pediatric or school nursing preferred.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to handle medical emergencies effectively.

Knowledge of state and federal health regulations for schools.
Physical Requirements
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate effectively; sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Work Environment
