What are the responsibilities and job description for the Site/Civil Design Engineer (Entry-Level) position at Bergmann Associates?
We are looking for a Site/Civil Design Engineer to join #TeamBergmann!
Who We're Looking For: Our next Design Engineer must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an Accredited University and prior experience in civil/site land development projects. Engineering in Training (EIT) certification is preferred for this role, but not required. All candidates should be proficient in Civil 3D, AutoCAD, HydroCAD, Water CAD, and Microsoft Office (specifically Excel and Word. )
What You'll Do: Our Site/Civil Engineer applies engineering fundamentals related to a discipline in technical support of project design teams.
What You'll Need to Be Successful:
- Strong CAD skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Attention to detail
- Proficiency in Civil3D
- Land Development project experience
Land Development Engineers also:
- Perform engineering calculations and create estimates
- Develop drawings by modifying or replicating a prior project, applying changes and corrections from redlined drawings, and/or creating drawings from sketches of others or from own design
- Ensure designs are in accordance with company and client production and design standards
- Perform QA/QC by verifying design methodology, calculations, outcomes, etc.
- Interpret and understand drawings from multiple disciplines for specific projects and respond to requests for information regarding same
- Conduct field inspections and surveys, investigate variables, obtain measurements, photographs, videos, and take notes; write reports documenting same
- Research and apply code provisions to design
- Work with senior engineers to create project designs
- Create models, including 3D models
- Research design options and document findings for project engineer/manager
- Evaluate, select and apply standard engineering techniques and procedures, using own judgement to make adaptations and modifications to existing designs
- Assist Project Engineers and leaders as needed in the creation of proposals, client information, and designs
