What are the responsibilities and job description for the Project Manager-Science, Technology, & Industry position at Bergmann Associates?
We are looking for a Project Manager to join the Science, Technology, & Industry Practice!
What You’ll Do: Responsibilities include planning, coordination and management of design and construction aspects for complex projects in Science, Technology & Industry (STI) Practice, including cannabis facilities. Candidate will work closely with other members of the STI Practice in developing and completing A/E design projects and support growth in our practice.
Who We’re Looking For: The ideal candidate has at least 5 years of experience as a licensed Architect or as a Mechanical Engineer working on Buildings projects, and has a minimum of a Bachelors degree in Architecture or Mechanical Engineering. Previous experience with Science, Technology, and/or Industrial projects and familiarity with Revit is required for this role.
The successful candidate will be a motivated, self-starter, who is organized and capable of multi-tasking, with a willingness to accommodate some overnight travel.
What You’ll Need to Be Successful:
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Experience with/understanding of AutoCAD and/or Revit preferred.
- Ability to work independently and/or remotely with limited supervision.
- Ability to work with project teams and departments across the company efficiently to drive projects to completion.
- Experience with financial management including project budgeting, monthly forecasting, managing purchase orders, and invoicing.
The Project Manager will also:
- Read, analyze, and understand the specific project scope of work from the client or write this document from discussions with the client. Prepare proposals based upon project scope of work.
- Demonstrate building design proficiency including understanding complex building projects and the required coordination between trades.
- Manage multiple projects to ensure project timelines are meeting contractual agreements within established deadlines.
- Coordinating with external and internal team members to provide guidance and direction on deliverable requests and deadlines; participate in and collaborate with team on QC reviews throughout project to ensure quality product; manage team and project scope to deliver results within project budget.
- Work directly with design team to research and understand code requirements, at times facilitate code discussions with local AHJ as needed.
- Managing the customer to ensure that realistic goals and expectations are both communicated and met.
- Work with design team to review and revise the designs as needed to meet client expectations and/or client requested changes. Pursue change orders when applicable.
- Provide leadership guidance, training, and mentorship for developing associates; Establish and foster team culture with a commitment to timeliness, responsiveness, and exceptional work product.
- Coordinate with multiple disciplines including architects, mechanical, electrical, and structural engineers, and contractors. Coordinate with owner, landlord (if applicable), contractors, and owner’s vendors.
