What are the responsibilities and job description for the Kids and Teens Program Aide position at BERGEN COMM COLLEGE?
The Kids and Teens Program Aide supports the day-to-day operations of Bergen Community College’s Kids and Teens Program, helping to provide a safe, engaging, and enriching experience for children participating in summer learning and recreational activities. Program Aides work closely with instructors and program staff, escort students across campus, supervise activities, and contribute to a welcoming and inclusive program culture. This role is ideal for energetic, dependable individuals who enjoy working with children and contributing to a positive learning environment.
POSITION SUMMARY
Responsibilities included but not limited :
- Assist with daily program logistics to ensure smooth operations across classrooms, lunchrooms, and activity areas.
- Escort students to and from classes, lunch, and scheduled activities, ensuring safety and adherence to program rules.
- Assist in preparing and organizing instructional and activity materials.
- Participate in required training sessions prior to the start of the summer program.
- Supervise and engage with students during instructional, recreational, and transition periods.
- Foster an inclusive, positive environment that supports curiosity, creativity, and personal growth.
- Provide general support to instructors and program leaders as needed.
- Maintain safety, cleanliness, and organization in program areas throughout the day.
- Report concerns promptly and collaborate with staff to resolve issues.
- Model professionalism and demonstrate strong rapport with students, families, and colleagues.

Experience: Working with children in educational, camp, or recreational settings is preferred.

HOURLY RATE AND BENEFITS
