Position: Porter
Location: New York, NY
Duration: 3-month contract
A Porter is position in the facilities department providing high quality and effective work to the Clients Residential buildings and grounds area and are responsible for the cleanliness and maintenance of these buildings.
Responsibilities:
- Cleans and maintains building and grounds complex.
- Cleans elevators, stairways, corridors, windows, floors, laundry rooms, vacant apartments.
- Clean mirrors, windows, window sills and baseboards in all common areas and dust assigned areas.
- Sweep and mop entrance lobbies, stairwells, offices, and elevator landings.
- Polish marble and or brass.
- Moves materials and furniture as required.
- Must be able to pick up/lift items up to 50 lbs and push a minimum of 100 lbs.
- Collect trash and transport waste to appropriate area. Put recyclables in appropriate container.
- Trims trees and shrubs, fertilizes, seeds and mows lawn.
- Sweeps and hoses sidewalks; removes snow and spreads salts as needed.
- Lobby must be kept clean and neat at all times.
- Neat appearance and have excellent command of the English language.
- Must be able to make intelligent decisions should the occasion arise.
- Must be able to go on ladders if needed.
- Perform duties as assigned/requested.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School Diploma and /or its equivalent required.
- Knowledge of building and grounds maintenance a plus.
- Good Verbal Communication and Interpersonal skills.
