Role Overview

Great with your hands? Your precision skills could help build life-changing medical devices.

BEPC is hiring Heart Valve Assemblers to join our client's medical device manufacturing team in Plymouth, Minnesota. This is a unique opportunity to turn skills like sewing, stitching, jewelry making, crafting, microscope work, or other detailed handwork into a career in medical device manufacturing.

You'll help assemble structural heart devices by performing highly precise sewing and assembly using suture, needles, microscopes, and specialized small tools in a controlled cleanroom environment.

Medical device experience is not required. Candidates with 0–2 years of experience and strong fine-motor skills are encouraged to apply. If you're patient, detail-oriented, comfortable working with your hands, and able to focus on small details for extended periods, your skills may be an excellent fit.

Why You'll Want to Apply

  • $16.76 - $18.76/hour, paid weekly
  • 12-month contract with possibility of extension
  • Opportunity to enter and build experience in the medical device industry
  • Develop specialized microscope and precision assembly skills
  • Put sewing, stitching, crafting, jewelry, or other fine-motor skills to work in a new industry
  • Work on products supporting structural heart and cardiovascular care
  • Competitive BEPC benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance
  • Join BEPC, a 100% employee-owned company

Key Responsibilities

  • Assemble structural heart devices according to approved manufacturing procedures.
  • Perform precision sewing using suture and needle under a microscope.
  • Handle extremely small components and materials requiring excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Use microscopes for extended periods while completing detailed assembly activities.
  • Perform repetitive fine-motor tasks while maintaining consistent accuracy and quality.
  • Use specialized small hand tools, calibrated instruments, measuring equipment, and test fixtures.
  • Inspect components and materials to verify compliance with established specifications and quality requirements.
  • Follow detailed written instructions and standardized manufacturing procedures.
  • Support product testing, verification, and validation activities for new and existing products as assigned.
  • Follow applicable quality, regulatory, cleanroom, and contamination-control requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and quality-focused work area.

Your Skills May Transfer

You don't necessarily need a medical device background to have the skills we're looking for.

Candidates with experience or hobbies involving sewing, embroidery, stitching, jewelry making, model building, crafting, electronics, small-parts assembly, microscope work, or other detailed handwork may have highly transferable skills for this opportunity.

What matters most is your ability to work carefully with your hands, maintain focus, follow precise instructions, and consistently produce detailed, high-quality work.

Work Environment

This position is performed in a controlled cleanroom manufacturing environment with established contamination-control, quality, and regulatory procedures.

The work requires sustained concentration and repetitive fine-motor movements while assembling very small components. Candidates should be comfortable performing detailed work under magnification and using a microscope for extended periods.

For someone interested in entering the medical device industry, this position provides an opportunity to develop specialized experience in structural heart device manufacturing, precision sewing, microscope assembly, and regulated production.
