Role Overview

BEPC is seeking an experienced Research Associate III to support our customer’s Personalized Healthcare Solutions research and development activities in Tucson, AZ.

This laboratory-based role will conduct research, development, and manufacturing experiments supporting diagnostic and personalized healthcare projects. The Research Associate III will independently design and execute a wide range of experimental protocols, analyze complex data, troubleshoot technical issues, prepare scientific documentation, and present findings to cross-functional project teams.

The candidate needs to have a strong Life Sciences background 4–6 years of relevant post-college experience and demonstrated expertise applying a broad range of laboratory and experimental techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experiments supporting project objectives.
• Design and execute a wide range of experimental protocols.
• Perform bench experiments, make detailed scientific observations, and analyze experimental data.
• Interpret complex results and contribute findings to overall project strategies.
• Prepare technical reports, experimental summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
• Present and discuss experimental procedures, data, and results with department and project teams.
• Maintain complete and accurate laboratory records, documentation, and electronic files.
• Apply a broad range of experimental and laboratory techniques.
• Identify and implement improvements to laboratory processes, workflows, and the work environment.
• Troubleshoot complex laboratory and experimental problems and implement corrective actions.
• Exercise independent judgment when selecting methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria.
• Work on complex scientific problems requiring in-depth evaluation of multiple factors.
• Participate in cross-functional technical teams, including failure investigation and core project teams.
• Collaborate across organizational groups to support project goals and technical initiatives.
• Provide scientific input into project planning and recommend creative solutions to technical challenges.
• Train colleagues in areas of technical expertise.
• Search and evaluate scientific literature to obtain general and specialized information.
• Maintain a high level of professional and scientific expertise within assigned areas.
• Recognize and document work with potential for publication or patent development.
• Follow applicable GMP, GLP, Design Control, and other established quality procedures.
• Monitor work to ensure quality and continuously promote a Quality First Time approach.
• May serve as a principal investigator for assigned experiments.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Science, or a related discipline.
• 4–6 years of relevant post-college professional experience.
• A Master’s degree may be considered with up to one year of relevant experience.
• Strong hands-on laboratory experience.
• Knowledge of a wide range of experimental techniques with demonstrated skill in their application.
• Experience designing and executing experimental protocols.
• Experience analyzing and interpreting complex experimental data.
• Ability to prepare technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses.
• Strong laboratory documentation and recordkeeping skills.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot scientific or laboratory problems and implement corrective actions.
• Ability to independently evaluate problems and select appropriate experimental methods and techniques.
• Ability to search, evaluate, and apply information from scientific literature.
• Experience collaborating within cross-functional technical and project teams.
• Strong written, verbal, presentation, and scientific communication skills.
• Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheet, graphical, and presentation software.
• Strong commitment to quality, accuracy, and laboratory compliance.
