Position Overview
We are seeking a talented Field Service Engineer to join our world-class team. This role is critical to our success, ensuring our instruments meet specifications before shipment, supporting customer installations, and providing ongoing technical service and support.
Key Responsibilities
Pre-Shipment & Quality Assurance
- Perform electro-mechanical testing to ensure instruments meet required specifications
- Conduct optical setup and calibration on sensitive optical systems
- Install and configure computers and associated software systems for instrument operation
- Participate in technical reviews for new product launches and beta testing
Customer Installation & Support
- Travel to customer sites throughout the United States (25% domestic travel) to oversee installation and commissioning
- Provide hands-on training and knowledge transfer to ensure customer success
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues remotely via phone, email, and video
- Maintain clear, professional communication with customers across all media
Team & Process Development
- Mentor and train other support representatives
- Participate in our ISO 9001 certified quality management system
- Contribute to continuous product and process improvements
Required Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline, or equivalent experience
- Working knowledge of Windows operating systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and wire diagrams
- Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Self-motivated with ability to work independently and take initiative
- Willingness to travel domestically (~25%)
