Child Welfare Case Aide

• Department:** Child Welfare
• Function:** To provide general assistance to other employees and the public, within Child Welfare.
• General Purpose:** The employee with be enlisted to do limited data entry, transportation, meet with clients, supervise visitation, provide feedback to on-going caseworkers, general assistance to caseworkers and clients, and other duties that are associated with any of the above programs.

• Duties:** Assisting clients who are using our services. Providing transportation for adult clients and their children for Child Welfare appointments. Providing direct supervision during visits between adult clients and their children. Providing supportive services as needed for caseworkers and case managers**.** Documentation into the TRAILS system. Supervising UA's.
• DIFFICULTY OF WORK:** This position requires a thorough knowledge of case management principles and practices, concepts of personal responsibility, of education, training, employment and other resources available in the community. A knowledge of computers, and how to complete forms, write correspondence, and other general office duties. A knowledge of various office equipment to perform general office duties. An ability to exercise individual initiative in problem solving. An ability to organize tasks, manage time, analyze facts and make decisions within established guidelines. An ability to work harmoniously with clients, as a team member with fellow employees and as an advocate for clients with other professionals in the community.
  
  

Physical Effort And Work Environment

The amount of time in the office environment is probably 50% of the time. Most data entry can be done in the office. 50% of the time will be either driving, or supervising visits, at potentially different sites. This position does not provide work from home. The worker is expected to be at the office during regular business hours, unless they are transporting clients, out on a call with a caseworker, supervising a visit, providing other duties that have been assigned or on leave.
