What will my role entail? 

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Fire Alarm Estimator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for projects involving fire alarm systems. The Fire Alarm Estimator will work closely with the sales and project management teams to ensure the successful bidding and execution of projects. 

Responsibilities:

• Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for fire alarm systems projects.
• Collaborate with sales and project management teams to develop accurate and competitive bids.
• Identify and quantify cost factors such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
• Research and source materials and subcontractors as needed for accurate estimating.
• Prepare detailed proposals and cost summaries for submission to clients.
• Review and assess bid opportunities and project requirements to determine feasibility and profitability.
• Maintain and update a database of cost information and historical data for future reference.
• Assist in the negotiation of contracts and pricing with vendors and subcontractors.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits to gather necessary project information.
• Ensure all estimates comply with industry standards and company policies.
• Provide support to project managers during the project planning and execution phases. 

Requirements:

• Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in estimating fire alarm systems.
• Proficiency in estimating software and tools such as Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of fire alarm systems, materials, and installation methods.
• Excellent analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Qualifications:

• Proficiency in Bluebeam, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Project).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 
• Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational abilities.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with team members and other departments.
