What are the responsibilities and job description for the Spray/Application Technician position at BENSENVILLE PARK DISTRICT?
The “Spray/Application Technician” position is a full-time, year-round position. Responsible for, but not limited to, the safe and effective application of fertilizers and chemicals, maintenance and proper set-up of White Pines Golf Club.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Assist in the scheduling and safe application of fertilizers and chemicals.
- Assist in irrigation system repairs and maintenance.
- Assist in projects and improvements throughout the property.
- Occasional participation in the basic maintenance and set-up of White Pines Golf Club’s golf courses and landscaped areas,
Including; daily mowing of turf, raking of bunkers, trash collection and general clean-up of property.
- Participate in maintaining an overall; clean, SAFE and efficient shop/work area(s).
- Participate in the cleaning and maintenance of equipment and tools.
- Observe daily conditions of golf course/property/equipment and effectively communicate with supervisors.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to and from work.
- Valid Illinois Pesticide License, or ability to obtain within 30 days.
- Ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and co-workers.
- Ability to effectively understand safety signage and instructions.
- General knowledge of golf and the expectation of course conditioning for guests.
- Must be willing to work in all weather conditions, barring dangerous conditions.
- Prior landscaping, or golf course maintenance experience required.

SALARY $18-$22.00/Hour
HOURS 40 hours/week, with 1 (4) hour morning/weekend required (seasonally).
