Reporting to the Superintendent of Marketing and Communications, the Marketing Supervisor is responsible for the planning, coordination, and implementation of the Bensenville Park District’s marketing initiatives, including those for the Bensenville Water Park & Splash Pad, Fischer Farm, Railroad Museum, White Pines Golf Club and Wood Street Fitness. This role develops and executes marketing strategies that promote the District’s programs, events, parks, and facilities, while maintaining a consistent and positive public image. The Marketing Supervisor oversees the creation of digital and print materials, manages social media and website content, utilizes analytics to guide decision-making, and supports sponsorship and advertising opportunities. The Marketing Supervisor works collaboratively across departments to enhance community engagement, maximize participation, and ensure the Bensenville Park District’s mission and brand are clearly communicated.
DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Develop and implement marketing plans for programs, events, parks, and facilities.
- Design, coordinate, and distribute marketing materials including seasonal program guides, flyers, newsletters, banners, and signage.
- Oversee and update the District’s website to ensure content is current, user-friendly, and visually appealing.
- Oversee management of social media platforms with engaging content, photography, video, and graphic design.
- Oversee and grow the District’s email program with content tailored to the individual consumer.
- Track, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing campaigns, using data to improve outreach and engagement.
- Photograph and/or video special events, programs, and facilities, and maintain an organized media library.
- Assist in growing District sponsorship programs, including lead acquisition and benefit fulfillment.
- Coordinate graphics for digital and other outdoor signage, kiosks, and displays throughout the District.
- Support internal communication and branding efforts across departments.
- Maintain consistent communication with staff, community partners, and media outlets.
- Represent the Park District at events, media opportunities, and community functions.
- Assist with budget preparation and monitor marketing-related expenses and income potential.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Marketing Research, Integrated Marketing, or related field (required).
- Minimum of 4-6 years of experience in marketing, communications, or public relations; park and recreation experience preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Creative Suite/Cloud (InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Premiere) and Canva or similar creative software.
- Experience managing social media accounts, website content (WordPress), and digital campaigns.
- Strong writing, editing, and verbal communication skills with the ability to present ideas clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of marketing analytics, reporting tools, and current industry trends.
- Professional photography and video editing skills preferred.
