Birthday Party Attendant

Description

As a Birthday Party Attendant, you will be responsible for creating a fun, safe, and welcoming environment for party guests at the Park District. This includes assisting with party setup, leading activities, supervising children, and ensuring smooth operations throughout the event. You will provide excellent customer service to parents and families, help facilitate games and activities, and maintain a clean and organized party space. Weekend availability is required, with most shifts scheduled between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Occasional weekday shifts may also be available.

DUTIES AND ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Assist with party setup and cleanup, including decorations, tables, and activity areas
• Welcome families and guests upon arrival, ensuring a friendly and professional atmosphere
• Lead and supervise age-appropriate games, activities, and group play
• Assist with food/snack time and help monitor safe practices during eating and play
• Provide excellent customer service to parents and guardians, answering questions and ensuring satisfaction
• Ensure the safety and supervision of all children throughout the party
• Maintain a clean and organized party environment before, during, and after events
• Communicate effectively with the Birthday Party Coordinator and fellow staff to ensure smooth operations
• Enforce Park District rules and safety procedures
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications

• Minimum of 16 years of age
• Experience working with children (preferred, but not required)
• Friendly, outgoing, and able to engage with children and families in a positive manner
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lead group activities and games
• Must be dependable, punctual, and able to work independently or as part of a team
• Must be available to work weekends (8 AM – 5 PM) with occasional weekday availability
• Certification in CPR/AED and First Aid (or willingness to obtain)

SALARY                $16.00 per hour

HOURS                 Weekends between 8:00am–5:00pm and/or sometimes weekdays after 5:00pm
