Bennett On-Site Services, BOSS Crane & Rigging, a division of The Bennett Family of Companies is seeing to fill 3 temporary Welder /Ironworker positions in the Raleigh, NC area. This is project work and will begin April 20th and run for 3-5 weeks.

Ironworker / Welder – Heavy Industrial Construction

Position Overview

We are seeking experienced Ironworker / Welders to support heavy lift and structural steel operations on industrial construction projects nationwide. This position is responsible for structural steel erection, field welding, equipment support installation, and structural modifications performed in active industrial environments.

Projects may include nuclear facilities, data centers, wind farms, heavy industrial plants, manufacturing sites, and other critical infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural steel erection, alignment, and bolt-up.
• Execute field welding in accordance with AWS standards and project specifications.
• Install equipment supports and structural modifications associated with heavy lift and industrial construction activities.
• Read and interpret structural drawings, welding symbols, and fabrication details.
• Perform layout, measurement, and field fit-up.
• Weld using SMAW and FCAW processes in various positions.
• Follow approved WPS and maintain required weld quality standards.
• Work safely at heights, from aerial lifts, or in elevated work areas.
• Maintain compliance with site safety requirements and exercise stop-work authority when necessary.

Decision Responsibility

Responsible for verifying structural alignment and fit-up accuracy, ensuring weld quality meets AWS and project specifications, and stopping work when structural or safety requirements are not met.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of structural ironwork and field welding experience required.
• Current  weld certification for D1 SMAW is required.
• Proficiency in SMAW and FCAW welding processes required.
• Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and welding procedures.
• Experience working in heavy industrial or large-scale construction environments required.
• Experience in nuclear, data center, wind, or heavy industrial facilities preferred.
• Ability to work at heights and in physically demanding environments.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must pass drug screening and welding qualification testing.

Work Schedule & Travel

Position may be part-time, full-time, or project-dependent based on operational needs.

Project schedules may include extended hours, weekends, outage work, and mobilizations on short notice.

Travel is required. Per diem and travel expenses are provided for qualifying projects.
