Role Description: Project Manager (Entry-Level)
Full-time * On-site in New Jersey * $55,000–$70,000/year
This is a full-time, on-site position for an Entry-Level Project Manager at Bennett Brothers Mechanical. The role is ideal for candidates with field experience or a technical education who are ready to grow into a full project management career path. As a Project Manager, you will assist with project documentation, scheduling, estimating, and coordination while gaining hands-on exposure to all phases of mechanical contracting. This position offers structured development, mentorship, and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to active job sites and internal operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist senior project managers with coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and daily project activities.
- Prepare and organize proposals, purchase orders, and time & material invoices.
- Support the development and management of project documentation, including change orders, AIA forms, RFIs, and closeout packages.
- Participate in project meetings, site visits, and safety walkthroughs to ensure alignment across teams.
- Maintain clear and timely communication between field crews, office staff, and clients.
- Review drawings, submittals, specifications, and material orders under guidance.
- Track equipment and material deliveries, verify quantities, and update logs.
- Assist with JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) creation and support field safety documentation.
- Learn and apply BBM’s QA/QC standards, project workflows, and execution processes.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in mechanical, HVAC, or general construction is preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and follow-through.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; basic AutoCAD or plan-reading skills are a plus.
- Demonstrated work ethic, initiative, and willingness to learn new systems and processes.
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred but not required.
Growth Path
This role is structured to advance into a full Project Manager position within 2–4 years. Through hands-on field exposure, one-on-one mentorship, and structured leadership and project management training, team members gain the technical and managerial skills needed to independently run projects and grow within Bennett Brothers Mechanical.
