Position Overview
The Special Education Paraprofessional will work closely with classroom teachers and special education staff to provide academic, behavioral, and social-emotional support to students with diverse learning needs. This individual plays a key role in helping students achieve their individual goals and thrive in the classroom.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) under the direction of certified staff
- Provide small-group and one-on-one instruction or assistance as needed
- Assist with classroom management and positive behavior support
- Modify and adapt instructional materials as directed by the teacher
- Supervise students in various settings, including classroom, cafeteria, and transitions
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation as required
Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting preferred
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to student success
