Title: ESS Instructional Assistant
Classification: Full-time
Employment: Term Ten month position
Reports to: Resource Teacher
Core Job Functions (or Essential Duties and Responsibilities) *Candidate will be provided on the job training*
- Support BFCS Vision, Mission, and Goals.
- Promote and adhere to BFCS policies and procedures.
- Provide a safe, structured environment focused on academic excellence.
- Instruct and assist, within close proximity to the teacher and health assistant, individual students or small groups of students to reinforce material or skills initially introduced by the teacher.
- Implement, under the direction of the supervising certified teacher, behavioral plans developed by a team consisting of parent and school personnel for the purpose of assisting students in modifying behaviors that are in conflict with a positive academic and social environment.
- Assist in educational demonstrations for the class or small group.
- Assist with assessments, grading papers, and completing records under the supervision of the certified teacher.
- Assist with the supervision of students during Specials, emergency drills, assemblies, recess, lunch periods, and field trips.
- Maintain the confidentiality of protected students’ information.
- Be flexible and perform other duties related to general job function as assigned by supervising teacher.
- Participate in meetings and trainings as required for the purpose of sharing information and improving knowledge and skills beneficial to assisting in the classroom.
- Meet any additional specific job requirements as indicated by the school site or District.

Qualifications:Minimum Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
- Will be required to pass a criminal background check upon hire
