Position Purpose
The Residential Manager is responsible for the overall operations of a Community Living Arrangement (CLA within Benhaven. This includes ensuring effective staffing, compliance with all licensing and regulatory requirements, and the implementation of high-quality, person-centered supports for residents. The Residential Manager upholds Benhaven’s standards while fostering a safe, supportive, and engaging living environment for individuals served.

- 37.5 Hours a week
Key Responsibilities
Staffing & Supervision:
- Develop a strong and supportive team,
- Works closely with the RN and Behaviorist,
- Interview, hire, and retain qualified staff following Benhaven's hiring procedures,
- Create and maintain a consistent and adequate staffing schedule (FT, PT, per diem),
- Develop a pool of trained per diem staff,
- Provide house-specific and Relias-based training; ensure timely completion,
- Monitor and support staff performance through regular feedback and coaching,
- Develop and manage a staff evaluation schedule,
- Conduct regular supervision and ensure each staff member understands their job role and the people they are supporting,
- Maintain documentation of staff meetings, evaluations, and progressive discipline as needed,
- Post and maintain accurate staffing schedules (Master, Planned, and Actual).
Home Operations & Safety
- Ensure home, yard, and vehicles are clean, safe, and well-maintained.
- Implement and monitor systems for cleanliness, maintenance, and emergency preparedness.
- Ensure current evacuation plans are available and understood by all staff.
Policy & Documentation Compliance
- Maintain up-to-date records in accordance with Benhaven policies and DDS regulations.
- Ensure all required policy manuals (Employee Handbook, DDS Policy Manual, Residential Practices and Procedure Manual) are accessible in the home.
- Provide policy training and guidance to staff using these resources.
- Ensure Therap documentation is completed and at Benhaven standards.
Financial Oversight
- Ensure financial record keeping and documentation follow Benhaven policy and procedures
- Utilize online payroll systems to verify and manage staff hours,
- Monitors and stays within the home budget,
- Manages Overtime and staffing allotted hours,
- Review individual personal finances that are budgeted bi-weekly and analyze income/expense reports,
- Manages and is responsible for petty cash and credit card purchases,
- Provides oversight regarding all individual expenditures in the home.
Individual Plan (IP) Management
- Ensures the individual is heard and has a voice at all team meetings,
- Ensure all meetings and reports are person-centered and driven by the individual.
- Oversee the development, implementation, and timely documentation of each resident's IP.
- Ensure assessments (e.g., LON, behavioral, clinical) are completed as required.
- Conduct IP meetings and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including families.
- Write reports (quarterly, 6-month reports for Team meetings)
- Ensure all program plans, strategies, and interventions are implemented and reviewed for effectiveness,
- Coordinate training for staff on each individual’s IP goals and support needs.
Quality Improvement and Assurance
- Track and report on behavioral programs, restraint use, and medication-related data monthly,
- Hold resident meetings at least twice per year,
- Lead team-based decision-making to improve programming and implement changes,
- Ensure timely progress reports and proper documentation in all resident records,
- Support and supervise advocates in reporting and documentation processes,
- Oversee submission and review of programming through the PRC in accordance with timelines,
Communication & Collaboration
- Maintain consistent, professional communication with families, providers, and external stakeholders,
- Document and distribute meeting minutes, decisions, and action plans,
- Respond promptly to all urgent or time-sensitive requests,
Resident Life & Service Coordination
- Ensure that each resident has a daily schedule that reflects their preferences, interests, and IP goals,
- Oversee medication administration, transportation, household routines, and resident activities,
- Ensure access to and coordination of medical, dental, psychiatric, social, and dietary services,
- Monitor implementation of recommendations from healthcare professionals and document outcomes,
- Ensure quarterly updates are provided for medical, psychiatric, educational, and employment services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Services, Psychology, or related field preferred,
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a residential or human services setting, with 1–2 years in a supervisory role,
- Strong knowledge of DDS regulations, licensing requirements, and best practices in residential support,
- Ability to manage staff, resolve conflicts, and lead a team effectively,
- Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills,
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health record systems,
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel between locations as needed.
Work Environment
- The position is based within a residential setting, requiring flexibility to respond to issues outside of regular business hours.
- May require participation in an on-call rotation.
