DSP, Benhaven In-Home Supports PT Opportunites

Benhaven is looking for Direct Support Professionals to work for our Individual & Family Supports assisting individuals with autism in their homes and the community. We are seeking enthusiatic and energetic applicants to provide support to our individuals.

East Haven: Part-time: (18 hrs) Tues & Thurs 4p-7p; Sat & Sun 10a-3p

Meriden/Middlefield: Part-time: (20 hrs) Mon 3:30p-7:30p; Tues & Thurs 4-7:30p; Frid 3:30p-7:30p & Sun 10a-3p

New Haven: Part-time: (9hrs) Tues 9:30a-1:30p & Fri 10a-3p

Cheshire: Part-time: (20 hrs) Mon & Fri 3:30p-8p and Sat & Sun 10a-3:30p

Guilford-Madison Part-time: (13 hrs) Tues & Thurs 3:30p-7:30p and Fri 3p-8p

Responsibilities:

The following duties are assigned to this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Work with individuals on the Autism Spectrum and possibly their families:

• Encourage building skills for independence
• Encourage and assist in increasing socialization
• Encourage and assist individuals with the pursuit of vocational opportunities
• Assist and provide opportunities for individuals to participate in recreational activities
  
  

Experience & Requirements:

• Must have experience working with individuals with autism.
• Must be able to pass a variety of background checks.
• Must have a CT driver's license.
• Applicant must have a registered and insured vehicle that can pass a safety inspection.
• Will train in PMT (physical management training) and CPR, if not already certified.
