Role Description The Estimator is a full-time, on-site role based in Miami Beach, FL. This position is responsible for reviewing project plans, site conditions, and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates for amenity deck and building repair projects. Day-to-day tasks include quantity takeoffs, gathering material and labor pricing, coordinating with vendors and subcontractors, and updating estimates as project details evolve. The Estimator will prepare bid proposals, assist with budget development, and support project managers in cost analysis and value engineering. The role also includes maintaining organized records of estimates, participating in client meetings when needed, and collaborating with operations to align project scopes with financial targets.
JOB SUMMARY
Since its establishment in 2010, Bengoa has completed over 200 restoration projects in both residential and commercial markets. The nature of these projects varied in scope such as building envelope repairs, garage repairs, recreational deck repairs, pool repairs and specialized structural rehabilitation.

will be joining our team as an Estimator.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Junior Estimator, the ideal candidate will be a key member of the Sales and Estimating team
and work directly with the Estimator and VP of Business Development. Some of the essential
responsibilities for an individual in this position are as follows:
1. Review bid documents and get pricing for the required materials
2. Setup estimating sheet
3. Do material takeoffs from drawings using Planswift
4. Visit sites to meet sub-contractors and verify quantities
5. Assist in obtaining pricing from sub-contractors
6. Attending Pre-bid meetings as needed
7. Must be proficient in MS Word and Excel and Power Point
8. Setup all final bid documents making sure they are on time
9. Any other items requested by the director of Business developme
Qualifications
- An individual applying for this position shall meet the following minimum requirements:
- Authorized to legally work in The United States of America.
- Older than 18 years old.
- Speak, read, and write English fluently. Spanish bilingual is a plus.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Eager to work in a collaborative work environment.
- Higher education degree in Civil Engineering, Architecture, and/or Construction Management.
- Proficient and/or Expert Knowledge in the use of estimating software such as Planswift
- Good knowledge of drafting in AutoCAD or similar software
- Knowledge in the use of Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, Word and Project
- Strong analytical and numerical skills, including experience with cost estimating, budgeting, and quantity takeoffs.
- Proficiency with construction-related software and tools (e.g., estimating software, spreadsheets, project management platforms).
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building repair/maintenance practices, preferably in commercial and residential settings.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with project managers, field teams, clients, and vendors.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities, with attention to detail and accuracy under deadlines.
- Prior experience as an Estimator or in a comparable construction or facilities role; amenity deck or concrete restoration experience is a plus.
- High school diploma required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
- Ability to work on-site in Miami Beach, FL and conduct occasional site visits within Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade counties.
