What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Technician 2nd Shift position at Beneficial Talent Source?
Job Summary:
This position is responsible for the preventative and daily maintenance of production machinery at the manufacturing plant to maximize production uptime.
Responsibilities:
- Perform highly diversified duties to install and maintain production machines and the plant facility’s equipment.
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and performs scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
- Perform simple machinist duties and responsibilities.
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines.
- Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments.
- Perform regular preventive maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities.
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties.
- Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas.
- Have thorough knowledge of emergency E-stops, safety trip ropes, safety equipment and procedures.
- Must be available and accountable to an on-call schedule and to work additional hours when needed.
- Fully support, endorse, and follow the guidelines of the HACCP and Food Safety Program.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2-3 years of maintenance experience
- Mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic competencies
- Good math skills
- Effective communication skills, both oral and written
- Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision
- High energy level
- Team player
