Lead Metallurgical Engineer
Area: Alcoa, TN (On-Site)
Travel: Up to 10%, some short-notice customer visits
Job Summary:
- Lead and mentor the Product Metallurgical Engineering team, setting performance goals and coaching on customer specification review and technical support
- Own product specifications, qualifications (including new products), and overall product quality as the single point of accountability for Sales, Application Engineering, and Field Service
- Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions (CARs) for customer quality issues, and resolve and negotiate customer claims
- Ensure critical product characteristics are in control and capable, maintaining QFD, Control Plans, and FMEA
- Lead cross-functional projects for product and process changes, equipment qualifications, and new business opportunities
- Support the Quality Management System and ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 compliance
