Key Responsibilities
- Review, analyze, and evaluate business systems and user needs
- Document business requirements and assist stakeholders in defining project scope and objectives
- Develop and communicate system changes to meet business strategies
- Work extensively with Programming and Quality Assurance teams to ensure solutions are delivered as designed
- Facilitate the resolution of questions and issues throughout the development lifecycle
- Determine operational objectives by learning business functions, collaborating with end users, and evaluating output requirements
- Write detailed business specifications and obtain business sign-off
- Assess current system capabilities and design process and system improvements
- Recommend controls, identify issues, and create improved procedures
- Define project requirements, including milestones, phases, and deliverables; assist with forming project teams
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly analyses of current processes using operational metrics
- Understand and communicate the operational impact of system or process changes
- Use data analysis to recommend improvements to senior management and actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
- Develop informative, actionable, and repeatable reports highlighting business trends and opportunities for improvement
- Conduct ad hoc analyses to investigate one-time or ongoing operational issues
- Evaluate competitor systems and processes; analyze comparative strengths and weaknesses
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent professional experience
- Healthcare industry experience required, preferably in claims processing
- Strong SQL experience required, including the ability to query DB2 databases on an AS400 platform
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Highly organized with excellent time-management skills
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities
- Detail-oriented, inquisitive, and data-driven
- Proven ability to build consensus, influence stakeholders, and drive operational change
