Position Summary
Bene-Care is seeking a motivated Personal Lines Insurance Consultant to help grow and strengthen our Property & Casualty division. This role is responsible for driving new business through proactive, self-generated lead activity, as well as delivering a high-touch service experience throughout the lifecycle of each account.
Success in this position is rooted in a strong community presence and an entrepreneurial mindset. The consultant is expected to actively build relationships both externally-through networking, referrals, and community involvement- and internally across Bene-Care by acting as a trusted resource for employees and their extended networks for personal insurance needs, while actively identifying cross-selling opportunities and partnering with team members to drive new leads.
In addition to new business development, the Personal Lines Sales Consultant maintains ownership of their book of business, including ongoing service, policy changes, and renewals. By combining a consultative sales approach with consistent client engagement, the consultant ensures coverage remains aligned with client needs while reinforcing Bene-Care's reputation for exceptional service.
This position requires a driven, self-motivated individual who thrives in a relationship-based sales environment and takes pride in building a book of business from the ground up.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Proactively generate new personal lines business through self-sourced leads, including community networking, referrals, and internal cross-selling opportunities
- Establish and maintain a visible and active presence within the community to build relationships and drive brand awareness
- Identify, assess, and advise clients on appropriate personal insurance solutions based on individual needs and risk profiles
- Prepare and present customized insurance proposals, leveraging carrier and internal resources
- Maintain full ownership of assigned accounts, including onboarding, ongoing service, and client communication
- Manage policy changes, endorsements, and client inquiries in a timely and professional manner
- Oversee and execute the renewal process, including coverage reviews, remarketing when appropriate, and client retention strategies
- Foster long-term, trust-based client relationships through consistent, consultative engagement
- Collaborate with internal teams and carrier partners to ensure accurate quoting, policy placement, and service delivery
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records in accordance with agency and regulatory standards
- Demonstrate accountability, initiative, and a commitment to continuous growth and development
- Support Company Officers and leadership with additional responsibilities as neededPartner with underwriting, internal service, and support teams to ensure accurate quoting and policy placement
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- An active NYS Property & Casualty License is preferred
- Bachelor's degree in business or a related field preferred
- 2 years of sales experience in the commercial lines/P&C Commercial Insurance field
- Knowledge of Salesforce is preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Outlook
- Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively within a team environment
- Comfort working in a fast-paced setting with defined targets, and performance goals
- Strong attention to detail with excellent time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrated excellence in organization as well as in written and verbal communication
- Proven skill in building relationships with clients and insurance carrier partners
