Contract: 12–18 Months (Full-time / Part-time considered)

Rate: £850–£900 per day
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Interim Head of Forecasting, Allocation & Replenishment (F,A&R) to lead a high-impact transformation programme within a leading retail environment.
This role will play a critical part in delivering a next-generation, AI/ML-enabled forecasting and replenishment capability, supporting improved decision-making across store and distribution networks.
This is a hands-on leadership role, requiring both strategic oversight and operational involvement across design, build, testing, and pilot phases. There is strong potential for this position to transition into a permanent role post-pilot.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the senior business lead for Forecasting, Allocation & Replenishment during the pilot phase
- Shape the future operating model, governance, and ways of working
- Oversee forecasting and replenishment outputs, ensuring alignment with business needs
- Define and guide exception handling and decision-making frameworks
- Collaborate with vendors and programme teams on system behaviour and configuration
- Ensure solutions align with real-world retail operations (stores, depots, constraints)
- Provide insight on key trade-offs such as availability vs stock optimisation
- Capture learnings from pilot and support rollout strategy and execution
Required Experience
- Proven experience at Head / Director level in Forecasting, Replenishment, or Supply Chain Planning
- Strong background in high-volume, multi-site retail environments
- Deep understanding of store-level forecasting, allocation, and replenishment processes
- Experience with planning tools such as RELEX, Blue Yonder, o9, or ToolsGroup
- Track record of working on transformation or system implementation programmes
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
- Strong stakeholder management across business and technology teams
Ideal Background
- Retail sectors such as grocery or general merchandise
- Experience working with large-scale store networks and distribution operations
- Exposure to AI/ML-driven planning or forecasting solutions
