NATURE OF POSITION
The Vehicle Porter performs cleaning and detailing duties to ensure agency and Rideshare vehicles are kept in a safe, clean, and presentable condition. This position supports the agency by preparing vehicles for service, assisting with vehicle transfers, and maintaining cleanliness and order in agency vehicle yards and facilities.
- Clean, wash, vacuum, and detail agency and vanpool vehicles, including all Agency vehicles that are used for Rideshare purposes (interior and exterior).
- Refill fluids (washer fluid, coolant, etc.) and check tire pressures as directed.
- Inspect vehicles for visible damage, missing equipment, or safety concerns and report findings to the Fleet Services Supervisor.
- Move, park, and stage vehicles in accordance with safety procedures.
- Transport vehicles to and from fueling, parking, or service locations as needed.
- Assist with basic support such as replacing wiper blades, checking lights, or installing minor accessories.
- Maintain cleanliness of vehicle parking areas, car wash bays, and equipment.
- Record cleaning and inspection activities in logs or computer systems.
- Assist staff with inventory, organization, and special projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
- Knowledge of safe vehicle cleaning and detailing techniques.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and maintain accurate records.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, bending, standing, and operating cleaning equipment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and cleanliness.
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
- One (1) year of work experience involving vehicle cleaning or detailing support preferred.
- Valid Washington State driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.
- Ability to safely operate passenger vehicles, vans, and light-duty fleet vehicles.
