Automotive Shop Manager

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of a Working Shop Foreman

• Working foreman position required to produce billable hours for the business.
• Recruits and hires new shop employees.
• Oversees daily work of shop technicians and is responsible for their output.
• Assigns duties to shop workers.
• Assists the technicians with diagnostics and repairs as needed.
• Works with Service Writer(s) to quote customer repairs.
• Reviews work completed to ensure it is up to quality standards.
• Helps coordinate training opportunities for the technicians.
• Warns, disciplines, or terminates employees not working to company standards.
• Assists in repair and maintenance of shop equipment and machinery.
• Enforces all health and safety policies in the shop.
• Ensures that all deadlines are met.
• Assists employees in on-site health or safety emergencies.
• Addresses and resolves customer issues and complaints.
• Inspects and cleans shop equipment.
• Fixes equipment and machinery as necessary.
• Orders supplies for the shop.
• Operates shop equipment and machinery such as brake lathe, flywheel grinder, tire machine, wheel balance machine, and forklift.
• Ensures that shop area is clean, organized, and free of dangerous or hazardous material.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• ASE Certifications a plus
• Demonstrates strong leadership skills.
• Possesses strong knowledge of auto diagnostics and repairs.
• Works well with a team.
• Exhibits strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Possesses solid analytical and problem solving abilities.
• Demonstrates awareness of all health and safety protocols.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $100,000.00 per year
