We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Payroll Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. Duties
- Process payroll transactions using leading payroll software.
- Perform account reconciliation and double entry bookkeeping to ensure accuracy across general ledger accounts
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable functions related to payroll and benefits payments
- Maintain detailed records of journal entries, debits & credits, and general ledger reconciliation activities
- Assist with benefits administration tasks including data entry and updates within HRIS platforms
- Support accounting requirements by preparing tax-related reports and ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
- Conduct analysis of payroll data to identify discrepancies or errors and resolve issues promptly
Skills and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proficiency with payroll management systems such as Workday, ADP or similar; Strong preference will be given to ComputerEase and/ or heavy construction background
- Strong understanding of accounting software including QuickBooks and other financial tools
- Knowledge of corporate accounting principles along with specific experience in payroll, benefits administration, and non-profit or governmental accounting
- Excellent data entry skills with high accuracy (10 key typing) and attention to detail
- Familiarity with human resources systems (HRIS) for employee data management
- Ability to perform account reconciliation and general ledger accounting efficiently
- Solid understanding of financial concepts such as debits & credits, journal entries, and bookkeeping practices
- Analytical skills for financial analysis and problem resolution within payroll processes
- Experience with tax regulations related to payroll taxes and compliance requirements
- Spanish speaking is a PLUS!
Pay Range: $45,000 - $65,000 depending on experience.
Pay: $45,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
