Director of Accounting

As our Accounting Director, you will work in partnership with the Senior Vice President of Finance and be responsible for the delivery of financial and management accounting for the Village and related legal entities.

What you will be doing

• Owning the month-end close and delivery of accurate reporting to deadlines.
• Preparing and posting accruals, prepayments and journals.
• Taking primary responsibility for balance sheet, bank and intercompany reconciliations.
• Producing weekly, monthly and annual cash forecasts.
• Managing payroll finance processes and reconciliations.
• Acting as operational point of contact for external and internal audit.
• Managing the year-end audit and statutory accounts.
• Overseeing tax compliance with external advisors.
• Managing Oracle transactions, approvals and segregation of duties.

• Strong and broad accounting experience; CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
• Experience in retail, real estate or a complex multi-entity environment.
• Demonstrated computer literacy, with high proficiency in Microsoft Office and Oracle; MRI experience desirable.
• Strong organizational skills, specifically establishing processes and collating information.
• Experience working in complex, matrixed organizations is a plus.
• Strong technical accounting and control mindset.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Discretion to handle sensitive information with professionalism.
• Flexibility to work weekends and federal holidays, as needed.
• Fluency in English; any other language would be beneficial.
