Location: Floating between BASEC @ Green Meadow and BASEC @ Fowler (Maynard, MA)

Schedule: Afterschool hours during the school year (details discussed at interview)

Wage Range: $24–$27 / hour, based on experience and qualifications

About BASEC in Maynard

BASEC — the Belmont After School Enrichment Collaborative — is a non-profit out-of-school time organization built on a simple idea: that the hours after school should support kids' cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development just as intentionally as the school day itself. Our Maynard sites — BASEC @ Green Meadow and BASEC @ Fowler — are where that vision meets practice for the families in this community. Both sites have real culture: routines that work, colleagues who love the craft, and families who trust us with their kids.

What the Work Looks Like

This is a floating role between our two Maynard sites. You'll get to know both teams, both spaces, and a broader slice of the families we serve — and you'll bring some helpful continuity across the program as a whole.

On any given day, you'll show up in the afternoon and greet kids by name as they arrive. You'll lead an activity you designed — maybe a project, a game, a workshop that ties back to something they're doing in school. You'll sit next to a student who's stuck on homework and help her find her way in. You'll notice a friendship that's fraying and help two kids talk it through. You'll check in with a colleague during daily staff meeting to workshop how to meet a child where they're at. You'll leave knowing you were part of something real.

Concretely, as an Educator at BASEC in Maynard, you will:

• Design and lead rich out-of-school time programming — the projects, workshops, and daily activities that make kids want to come back.
• Provide the core supports this age group needs: academic help when they need it, executive function coaching, and social-emotional learning built into the fabric of the day.
• Be a daily, trusted presence for students across both sites.
• Serve, alongside the Site Director, as a point of contact for parents about their child's skill-building and developmental growth through BASEC.
• Stay current by participating regularly in professional development on trends in the field.
• Contribute to the culture at both sites — the kind of place where kids thrive because the adults around them are steady, warm, and dialed in.

• Energetic and compassionate — kids read this in about ten seconds.
• Patient, and grounded in the belief that every child can succeed.
• A collaborator who wants to create alongside colleagues, not in isolation.
• A growth mindset — genuinely open to feedback and eager to keep getting better.
• Organized enough to run your part of the program without dropping the details.
• Computer literate and comfortable in Google Suite.
• Some education background or experience in the out-of-school time field.
• At minimum, a high school diploma or GED; Bachelor's degree preferred.

• Wage range of $24–$27 per hour — with your specific rate based on prior experience and qualifications.
