Overview
Bellwood is seeking a Head of Enterprise Architecture to guide the architectural strategy and technology direction for a key enterprise client engagement. This role will drive platform scalability, modernization initiatives, and engineering excellence while partnering closely with product, delivery, and business stakeholders.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned technology leader who combines deep architectural expertise with pragmatic decision-making and the ability to translate complex technical concepts into measurable business outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, communicate, and evolve architectural vision, standards, and best practices
- Partner with Product, Engineering, and Business leaders to align technology strategy with organizational goals
- Lead the design and modernization of enterprise platforms with a focus on scalability, reliability, and performance
- Evaluate architectural alternatives and clearly articulate tradeoffs in business and technical terms
- Guide the evolution of cloud-native and distributed systems (AWS preferred)
- Mentor and support architects and senior technical leaders
- Promote architectural governance that enables delivery speed and engineering quality
- Drive continuous improvement across system resilience, interoperability, and operational efficiency
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- 15 years of experience in Agile software development and architecture.
- 10 years designing and delivering multi-tier enterprise applications.
- 5 years of experience leading architecture or engineering teams.
- Demonstrated expertise in at least three of the following: Enterprise Architecture, Solution Architecture, Cloud (AWS preferred), Infrastructure, Design Patterns, Messaging, Mobile, or Multi-Tenant Architecture.
Preferred:
- Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Experience in payments, fintech, or transaction-intensive platforms
- Strong understanding of scalable, high-availability systems
- Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders and cross-functional leaders
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills
