The Head Varsity Track & Field Coach is responsible for organizing, leading, and supervising the high school track & field program. Duties include planning practices, coaching student-athletes in sprint, distance, jump, and throw events, managing meet-day operations, and fostering a positive, competitive, and educational athletic environment in accordance with CIF and district policies. Essential Duties *Plan and conduct daily practices during the spring season *Coach and develop student-athletes in track & field events *Supervise athletes at all practices, meets, and team events *Coordinate with assistant coaches and athletic director *Ensure compliance with CIF Southern Section rules *Monitor athlete academic eligibility and sportsmanship standards *Manage equipment and team organization *Promote safety, injury prevention, and proper training techniques
Requirements / Qualifications
*Previous coaching experience at high school or collegiate level (preferred varsity experience) *Valid CIF Coaching Education Certificate *Current CPR / First Aid Certification *DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance *TB test clearance *Completion of required coaching training modules (e.g., concussion, heat illness, sudden cardiac arrest) *EdJoin application *Resume *Cover Letter *Three letters of recommendation *Strong communication skills
