Job Summary
Mirabelles has been a bakery for nearly 4 decades. We are excited to launch this next venture at Belles on the River. We are looking for creative, collaborative and positive cooks. In this vital role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality food items, assisting with menu planning, and maintaining a clean and organized kitchen environment. Your culinary expertise and attention to food safety standards will ensure that every dish served meets our quality expectations. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in a fast-paced food service setting while contributing to memorable dining experiences for our guests.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes, ensuring consistency and quality.
- Assist in menu planning by preparing daily specials and suggesting improvements based on ingredient availability.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including ovens, mixers, slicers, and other culinary tools.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards.
- Handle food with proper hygiene practices, adhering to all food safety management protocols.
- Collaborate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
- Support catering events by preparing large quantities of food while maintaining presentation standards.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a dietary department or dietary aide role is preferred but not required.
- Proven food preparation and cooking experience in a restaurant or food industry setting.
- Strong knife skills, slicing techniques, and familiarity with recipe adherence.
- Knowledge of safety standards in production environments and proper food handling procedures.
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment efficiently and safely under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with kitchen staff and front-of-house team.
- Experience with meal preparation, menu planning, and catering is a plus.
