Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly and professional Food Server to join our dynamic team in delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food service, excellent customer relations skills, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, and ensuring guest satisfaction in a fine dining or casual restaurant setting. Prior experience in the food industry, hospitality, or related roles is preferred. The Food Server will play a vital part in creating memorable dining experiences by providing attentive service and maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly and provide prompt, courteous service throughout their dining experience
- Take accurate food and beverage orders using POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable
- Upsell menu items and promote specials to enhance guest satisfaction and sales
- Serve food and drinks efficiently while adhering to proper food handling and sanitation procedures
- Clear tables, bus tables, and assist with setting up dining areas as needed
- Handle cash transactions accurately through cashiering or cash handling procedures
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, dining areas, and service stations in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure timely delivery of orders and address any guest concerns promptly
- Assist with guest relations by providing information about menu items, wine pairings, or special accommodations
- Support other team members such as host/host or bartenders during busy periods to ensure smooth operations
Experience
- Previous experience in food service or hospitality roles is highly desirable, especially in fine dining or nightclub settings
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS, Micros POS, or OpenTable is a plus
- Experience with food safety standards and sanitation practices within the restaurant industry
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle guest inquiries professionally
- Basic math skills for processing payments and managing bills accurately
- Knowledge of food handling, preparation, and serving techniques preferred but not required
- Prior experience in bussing tables or host/host duties is advantageous
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining attention to detail and excellent guest relations
