Program Guide (PT)
Job Summary
Bellcate School Program Guides assist program instructors to support all aspects of the school day as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities
None.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Build positive, respectful relationships with students to promote emotional safety and engagement in programming.
- Support students in following schedules, routines, and expectations in classrooms, community-based activities, and specials (e.g., art, PE, vocational).
- Assist Program Instructors with setting up, running, and closing out daily activities, including academic, therapeutic, vocational, and recreational programming.
- Help maintain structured, predictable environments by reinforcing classroom norms, transitions, and visual supports.
- Prompt, model, and reinforce social skills, communication skills, and pro-social behavior during both structured activities and unstructured times (lunch, breaks, transitions).
- Support data collection and documentation related to student goals, behavior plans, and progress monitoring as directed.
- Work closely with Program Instructors, special educators, clinicians, related service providers, and administrators to support student success.
- Communicate observations about student strengths, challenges, and progress to Program Instructors and appropriate team members in a timely, professional manner.
- Maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality in accordance with school policies and applicable laws.
- Help maintain clean, organized, and therapeutic learning spaces, including classrooms, sensory areas, and shared program spaces.
- Prepare, set up, and put away materials and equipment for program activities under the direction of Program Instructors.
- Support community-based instruction or outings by assisting with logistics, supervision, and safety.
- Adhere to all school policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Knowledge
Education -Highschool diploma or equivalent
Skills
Language Skills
Ability to speak/understand English language and read/comprehend complex instructions. High level of ability to communicate with staff, strong verbal and written communication skills required. Ability to proofread documents for grammar use, spelling errors, etc. required.
Technical Skills
Solid understanding of Google platform including docs, spreadsheets, presentation and Microsoft Suite. Experience with human resource information systems.
Abilities
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply deductive reasoning and carry out simple instructions, ability to deal with changing situations with multiple variables, and the ability to make reasoned decisions within established guidelines.
Physical Ability
Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds required. Must have the ability to sit, stand, use hands to handle and feel, reach with hands and arms, talk, hear and see at a distance of 20 inches or less. This role routinely works both indoors and outdoors. Must have the ability to be exposed to cold and hot temperatures and the ability to walk distances up to a ½ mile as part of the school day.
