Retail Store Associate

Job Summary
Bellawood Farm is a unique business in teh Columbus area, with an 82 acre farm, butcher shop, retail store, steakhouse & wood-fired pizze restaurant, and moe. We are seeking a friendly and energetic Retail Store Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, assisting with restocking and product displays, basic meat cutting, and ensuring the store operates smoothly. This person will need to become knowledgeable about Bellawood Farm's operations, our meat selection, and other products. Customer service is our highest priority.

Duties

• Greet customers warmly and assist with their shopping needs
• Operate POS systems efficiently for transactions, returns, and exchanges
• Conduct product demos to educate customers about features and benefits
• Conduct basic meat cutting, and abide by all food safety policies, procedures, and regulations
• Stock shelves and organize merchandise to maintain an attractive store appearance
• Assist with merchandising and visual displays to promote sales
• Manage inventory levels through stocking and inventory checks
• Handle cash, process payments accurately, and perform cashiering duties
• Upsell products to maximize sales opportunities
• Maintain phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or online inquiries
• Perform basic retail math for transactions and inventory management
• Ensure compliance with store policies and safety procedures

Skills

• Proven experience with POS systems and cashiering operations
• Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership abilities
• Ability to conduct engaging product tastings and upsell effectively
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
• Strong customer service orientation with a friendly demeanor
• Knowledge of merchandising, stocking, and retail sales techniques
• Basic math skills for handling cash transactions and inventory counts
• Familiarity with grocery store operations is beneficial but not required
• Professional phone etiquette when interacting with customers over the phone or online

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $12.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
