Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and steam wells.
- Ensure all food handling practices adhere to safety standards and food safety regulations
- Assist in meal preparation, including slicing, dicing, and portioning ingredients with proper knife skills and slicing techniques
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen areas through regular cleaning and sanitizing
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate orders and ensure timely service
- Requirements
- Previous experience in food service or restaurant kitchens is highly preferred
- Strong knowledge of food safety management and handling procedures
- Demonstrated culinary experience with proficiency in cooking techniques and recipe adherence
- Familiarity with operating various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate seamlessly with kitchen team members
- Experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles is a plus but not required
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
