Responsibilities
- Manage daily administrative operations of the dental clinic, including scheduling, patient intake, and record keeping.
- Oversee fiscal management tasks such as budgeting, billing, coding, and insurance claims processing using systems like Dentrix and Eaglesoft.
- Supervise front office staff and clinical support personnel, providing guidance on medical administrative support and office management best practices.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain the confidentiality of all medical records and patient information.
- Coordinate with healthcare providers to facilitate efficient clinic workflows, including EMR (Electronic Medical Records) and EHR (Electronic Health Records) system management such as eClinicalWorks or Epic.
- Monitor financial performance through budgeting, managed care oversight, and utilization management to optimize practice profitability.
- Support human resources functions including staff scheduling, training, and performance evaluations to foster a motivated team environment.
- Maintain knowledge of dental office experience requirements and stay current with healthcare management standards to improve clinic operations continuously.
Experience
- Proven experience in medical office management or dental office administration within a healthcare setting.
- Strong background in fiscal management, including budgeting, financial reporting, and billing procedures.
- Familiarity with dental practice management software such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft; experience with EMR/EHR systems like eClinicalWorks or Epic is highly desirable.
- Supervisory experience overseeing administrative or clinical teams in a healthcare environment.
- Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, medical terminology, and medical records management standards.
- Experience working in a busy clinic or hospital setting with acute care or hospital experience preferred.
