Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illnesses
- Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations of patients
- Develop and implement patient management policies and procedures
- Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities
- Communicate with collaborating physician or specialist regarding patient care

Dr. Lara's Medical practice strongly emphasizes the importance of preventive medicine. He is a strong advocate for the study and practice of geriatrics and encourages his patients to get educated about the diseases that affect them in their daily lives. Dr. Lara's patients have come to appreciate him for a variety of reasons, one of which is his ability to listen and explain in detail about the condition and options for treatment. Dr. Lara understands that communication with the patient is key for creating a healthier lifestyle.
After graduating and obtaining his doctoral degree from the University of El Salvador, Dr. Lara completed his internship and student residency in Internal Medicine from Los Angeles General Hospital/University of Southern California-LAC USC Medical Center (IM). Soon after, he began his own practice in the city of Bell, CA and has been serving the community for over 20 years.
Dr. Lara's patients come from far and diverse regions such as: Texas, Oregon, Mexico, El Salvador, and Peru. He's been married to his wife of over 20 years, Marina, and has 3 children. He enjoys golfing, playing guitar, and biking.
