POSITION SUMMARY
Responsible for Engineering Custom projects from concept through to shop drawings. The Design Engineer will apply Engineering and Design for Manufacturability principles to efficiently design and detail custom products and projects.
DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES
- They are responsible for maintaining the integrity of design data from design through drawings and BOMs.
- Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical parts and assemblies using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.
- Responsible for designing custom projects from concept through to shop drawings.
- Complete project layouts, assemblies and shop drawings, assign part numbers; create bills of material, and installation sheets for custom products so manufacturing can be completed in a timely manner.
- Support planning and builds of custom and/or prototype assemblies.
- Responsible for assuring designs meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Interfaces with suppliers, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing engineering to assure designs meet objectives for quality, performance, schedule, costs and manufacturability (DFMA).
- Liaison with presale about design for intent and customer expectation, engineering, purchasing, and manufacturing engineering to assure designs meet objectives for quality, performance, schedule, and manufacturability.
- Responsible for assuring designs meet all safety and regulatory requirements; Solid understanding and implementation/use of safety requirements
- Utilizes engineering knowledge and practices, plus manufacturing processes and materials, to complete designs and drawings; Perform engineering related tasks, including basic FEA or structural analysis.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of experience in Solidworks designing weldments
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field required
Salary : $80,000 - $105,000
