Position Overview
We are partnering with a growing, operationally complex organization seeking a hands-on, strategic Accounting Manager to serve as the operational right hand to the Controller and as a key leader within the accounting and finance function. This individual will act as the bridge between the accounting team and the Controller, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while driving forecasting, financial planning, and business performance analysis.
This is a high-impact role ideal for someone who enjoys owning the close process and translating financial data into actionable insights during a period of growth.
This position will begin as a contract engagement with strong potential to convert to a permanent leadership role.
Key Responsibilities
Accounting Leadership & Financial Reporting
- Oversee full-cycle accounting operations including general ledger, accruals, and reconciliations
- Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
- Review and approve journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial statements
- Ensure integrity and accuracy of financial reporting
- Prepare financial reporting packages and communicate monthly plan vs. actual variance analysis and key drivers
Financial Planning & Analysis
- Maintain and update rolling forecasts and financial projections
- Assist with ad hoc operational analysis
- Provide insights into trends, margins, and overall operational performance
What This Person Will Be Doing Day-to-Day
- Reviewing accounting team deliverables
- Managing close calendar and key deadlines
- Updating and refining forecasting models
- Supporting the Controller with reporting and strategic initiatives
- Bridging detailed accounting execution with big-picture financial strategy
Ideal Candidate Requirements
- 7–12 years of progressive accounting and finance experience
- Prior experience as an Accounting Manager or senior accounting leader
- Strong ownership of month-end close and financial statement preparation
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis
- Supervisory or team leadership experience
- Experience with Sage Intacct preferred
- Experience within multi-location or operational business environments preferred
- Comfortable working in a hybrid setting
*Note* - This is a contract to hire position, this position will likely be on a contract basis for the first month or two, before becoming permanent.
Salary : $48 - $59
