The Controller is responsible for full ownership of the company’s financial operations, including reporting, job costing, cash flow management, and internal controls. This role ensures financial accuracy, enforces accountability across departments, and provides leadership with clear insight to drive business decisions.
Core Responsibilities
Financial Management & Reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Maintain general ledger accuracy and integrity
- Perform all bank, credit card, and loan reconciliations
- Oversee and manage the financial close process
Cash Flow & Financial Planning
- Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts
- Monitor liquidity and overall financial health
- Provide recommendations to ownership on financial decisions
Job Costing & Profitability
- Own job costing system and reporting accuracy
- Analyze project profitability and identify cost overruns
- Work directly with PMs and Operations to correct inefficiencies
Accounts Payable & Receivable Oversight
- Oversee AP/AR processes managed by the Office Manager
- Establish controls and approval workflows
- Drive collections strategy and monitor AR exposure
Payroll Oversight
- Review and validate payroll processed by the Office Manager
- Ensure proper job costing allocation and compliance
- Maintain payroll accuracy and reporting
Compliance & Financial Controls
- Ensure compliance with all tax, regulatory, and reporting requirements
- Oversee prevailing wage financial compliance
- Maintain internal controls to reduce risk and errors
External Relationships
- Manage relationships with CPA, auditors, banks, and bonding companies
- Provide financial documentation for audits and financing

Qualifications
- 5 years in accounting or finance (construction experience preferred)
- Strong knowledge of job costing and financial reporting
- Experience with QuickBooks and integrated systems
- CPA preferred but not required
A plus if you have experience in construction.

Salary : $90,000 - $110,000
