Job Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties

  • Greet patients warmly and manage front desk responsibilities with professionalism and enthusiasm
  • Schedule appointments efficiently using electronic health record (EHR) systems such as Lytec
  • Verify insurance coverage and perform insurance verification to facilitate seamless billing processes
  • Collect patient information, update medical records, and review documentation for accuracy and completeness
  • Manage phone systems with excellent phone etiquette, handle multi-line calls, and direct inquiries appropriately
  • Maintain organized filing of medical records, patient charts, and office documents in compliance with HIPAA regulations
  • Support clinical staff with intake procedures, preparation of care plans, and basic clinical documentation review
  • Utilize computer skills to update electronic health records (EHR), process billing transactions, and generate reports using Microsoft Office tools
  • Conduct medical collection efforts to ensure timely payments while maintaining positive patient relationships
  • Assist with inventory management of office supplies and medical equipment

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Medical Office Assistant or in a similar healthcare administrative role with clinic or medical office experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, ICD-9/10 coding, CPT coding, and medical billing procedures
  • Familiarity with EMR systems such as Lytec is highly desirable
  • Excellent computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and health information management software
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality and data security
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation review and data entry accuracy
  • Strong customer service skills combined with professional phone etiquette and clerical experience in a busy office setting
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment
