Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and traditional models, to recover and transport vehicles safely.
- Assess vehicle conditions using automotive diagnostics and mechanical knowledge to determine the best towing approach.
- Load and unload vehicles with precision, ensuring secure transport using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or specialized tools.
- Communicate effectively with customers, dispatchers, and emergency responders to coordinate timely assistance.
- Manage conflict situations professionally, maintaining positive interactions even under stressful circumstances.
- Conduct routine inspections of tow trucks and related equipment to ensure safety standards are met.
- Assist with basic automotive repairs or diagnostics when necessary to facilitate vehicle recovery or troubleshooting.
Qualifications
- Must have dot physical and med card or ability to obtain one. Valid drivers license or commercial driver’s license with a clean driving record; experience driving tow trucks or similar commercial vehicles preferred but not necessary
- Mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in automotive diagnostics and repair.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive repair tools is highly desirable.
- Experience operating flatbed tow trucks, forklifts, or other heavy machinery is a plus.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to handle conflict management professionally.
- Ability to load & unload vehicles efficiently while adhering to safety protocols.
- Prior mechanic experience or automotive diagnostics skills will enhance your effectiveness in this role.
