Responsibilities
- Operate tow trucks, including flatbed and wheel-lift models, to recover and transport vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Conduct automotive diagnostics and mechanical assessments to determine the best recovery or repair approach.
- Load and unload vehicles carefully, ensuring secure transportation using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or other lifting devices.
- Provide exceptional customer service by communicating clearly with clients, dispatchers, and roadside assistance teams.
- Manage conflict situations professionally when dealing with distressed customers or challenging scenarios on the road.
- Perform routine inspections of tow trucks and related equipment to ensure safety standards are met and maintenance is up to date.
- Assist with automotive repair tasks when necessary, applying mechanic experience to troubleshoot minor issues or prepare vehicles for transport.
Qualifications
- Proven experience operating tow trucks or similar commercial driving vehicles; valid driver’s license with clean driving record required.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on automotive diagnostics and repair skills.
- Familiarity with manual transmissions and automotive systems is highly desirable.
- Experience in automotive repair, including working with flatbed tow trucks or other specialized recovery equipment.
- Ability to load, unload, and secure vehicles safely using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Excellent customer service skills coupled with conflict management abilities to handle sensitive situations professionally.
- Prior experience operating forklifts or other lifting machinery is a plus; relevant certifications are preferred.
