We are seeking an experienced General Manager – Food Nutrition Services to lead daily operations for a large hospital-based food and nutrition team in Washington, DC. What You’ll Do- Lead and direct all daily operations of food and nutrition services, including patient meals, retail outlets, catering, and physician/staff dining.
- Drive compliance with food safety, sanitation, and healthcare regulations.
- Develop and execute strategic plans to achieve financial targets and operational excellence.
- Manage and mentor a diverse, multi-unit team while promoting staff engagement and development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with hospital leadership, nursing, and patient care teams.
- Ensure a positive dining experience that aligns with the hospital's patient-first philosophy.
- Oversee budgets, supply chain, and dietary management systems.
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- 5 years of management experience in food and nutrition services, specifically within a hospital or large healthcare system.
- Demonstrated success leading large, multi-unit operations with complex teams.
- Strong track record in food safety, sanitation, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
- Commitment to nursing relationships and patient experience as a leadership priority.
- Proficiency with dietary management systems (e.g., CBORD, Computrition), inventory control, and food safety compliance tools.
- Strong financial management skills, including budgeting and forecasting.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and team-building skills.
- Experience managing food and nutrition operations in a large hospital or large enterprise healthcare environment.
