Job Summary:
The Hydromat Operator will be cross trained in a variety of screw machines to support the department operations and fulfilment of company production goals. The Hydromat Operator will produce machined parts from a variety of metals to required specifications by operating applicable machining equipment.
Regular work schedule will reflect:
Monday – Thursday 3pm – 1am
Applicants can expect a base compensation range of $18.00-$20.00 per hour plus a 10% shift differential for working second shift. This is the reasonable estimate for this job based on applicable circumstances at the time of posting. Pay could be more or less than the posted range as permitted by law, and commensurate with the applicant’s experience, qualifications, and geographical location.
You will make a difference in the following ways:
1. Produces parts to required specifications by setting and operating conventional lathes, mills and other machinery.
2. Prepares machine for production including oiling the machine, starting and checking first part for possible defects.
3. Replaces tooling and makes minor adjustments under necessary supervision.
4. Ensures stock does not run out during production by inserting bar stock into spindles at end of machine.
5. Continuously cleans out chips during assigned shift.
6. Makes quality work using 3-pan system.
7. Checks parts after and during stock-up.
8. Makes out tickets that contain part numbers, machine number, operator number and date.
9. Maintains operational status of machine by monitoring condition of assigned machine and reporting any needed repairs to the Maintenance Mechanic.
10. Maintains work area and equipment in a clean and orderly fashion, abiding by company rules and safety regulations.
11. Performs all other duties as assigned.
What you bring:
Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED, trade school certification a plus.
- 1-3 years of prior Screw Machine operation experience.
Knowledge:
· Ability to read, write, and communicate in English.
· General computer skills with the ability to use and learn SAP.
· Ability to interpret geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).
· Basic mathematical knowledge to perform addition and subtraction.
· Ability to utilize hand tools and have strong mechanical abilities.
· Proficiency in blueprint reading.
· Knowledge of and the ability to use micrometers and calipers.
· Must demonstrate safe working habits, the ability to follow directions and work with minimal supervision.
· Ability to work effectively in a team environment in a culturally diverse workplace.
