Job Summary:

This is a specialized, time-sensitive assignment supporting NADCAP and AS9100 audit preparation, site readiness, and corrective action activities.

The successful candidate will be a seasoned aerospace quality professional who can step into the facility with minimal direction and immediately assess, prepare, and strengthen the site's readiness for customer, regulatory, and certification audits.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and support NADCAP and AS9100 audit readiness activities at the facility.
• Conduct internal audit preparation activities, including audit readiness assessments, mock audits, dry runs, and gap assessments.
• Evaluate site processes and documentation from an auditor's perspective and identify areas requiring attention before an audit.
• Identify potential findings, weaknesses, or gaps and work with appropriate personnel to develop and implement effective corrective actions.
• Recommend and help implement process improvements, enhancements, and controls necessary to strengthen site audit readiness.
• Prepare personnel and functional areas for upcoming audits by communicating auditor expectations and areas of focus.
• Review quality-system documentation, procedures, records, work instructions, and supporting evidence for compliance and completeness.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective action activities associated with internal, customer, NADCAP, and AS9100 audit findings.
• Assist with preparation of objective evidence and documentation required to demonstrate compliance.
• Participate in customer and certification-body audits as needed and provide hands-on support throughout the audit process.
• Partner with Quality, Engineering, Operations, and other site functions to resolve issues quickly and effectively.
• Identify recurring quality-system or process issues and recommend sustainable corrective actions.
• Provide experienced guidance and mentoring to site personnel regarding audit expectations, quality-system requirements, and audit preparation.
• Maintain a hands-on presence within the manufacturing environment and work directly with personnel to verify implementation and effectiveness of corrective actions.
• Perform other quality engineering and audit-readiness activities as assigned.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 7 years of quality engineering experience, preferably within the aerospace industry.
• Demonstrated, hands-on experience preparing for and supporting NADCAP audits is required.
• Demonstrated experience with AS9100 quality systems and audit preparation is required.
• Proven experience conducting or participating in mock audits, internal audits, audit dry runs, and site readiness assessments.
• Strong understanding of what NADCAP and AS9100 auditors evaluate and how to prepare a manufacturing site for successful audits.
• Demonstrated ability to identify compliance gaps and independently develop or drive corrective actions.
• Experience working within an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, process documentation, and quality-system documentation.
• Strong understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes and quality requirements.
• Experience with root-cause analysis, corrective action, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills.
• Excellent computer skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively across Quality, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Operations.
• Must be able to operate independently and contribute immediately with minimal onboarding or training.

Preferred Qualifications

• ASQ certification or other relevant quality certification.
• Lead Auditor certification or equivalent audit experience.
• Experience supporting multiple NADCAP special-process audits.
• Experience supporting customer audits in an aerospace manufacturing environment.
• Experience with supplier quality, internal quality audits, and corrective action systems.
• Experience with statistical problem solving, SPC, and quality improvement methodologies.

Education Requirements

• B.S. degree in Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, or a related discipline, or equivalent combination of education and extensive relevant experience.
