Job Description:
Position Summary
The Mechanical Designer will provide short-term support for light industrial and fabrication projects, primarily involving fittings and basic fabricated components. This role focuses on reviewing and updating drawings and specifications to support ongoing production and keep projects moving forward efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
* Review, update, and revise mechanical drawings and specifications
* Create and modify 2D and 3D CAD drawings for fittings and fabricated components
* Incorporate redlines, field changes, and production feedback into drawings
* Support fabrication and manufacturing teams with accurate, production-ready documentation
* Verify dimensions, tolerances, and basic fit-up for fabricated items
* Maintain organized and up-to-date drawing files
Required Qualifications
* Prior experience as a Mechanical Designer in a fabrication or manufacturing environment
* Proficiency with CAD software (Gibbs and Mastercam)
* Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
* Experience with fittings, light industrial components, or basic fabrication assemblies
* Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, short-duration project
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience supporting short-term or contract-based projects
* Familiarity with shop-floor fabrication processes
* Local to the Cleveland area or open to short-term travel
