Maintenance Mechanic II
Main job objective - Mission:
Within the scope of the general management principles of BekaertDeslee USA Inc, the Maintenance Mechanic II is responsible for:
- Ensuring all facilities mechanical systems are maintained and repaired to proper specifications.
- Performing daily and weekly preventative maintenance assignments on facility’s mechanical systems as assigned.
- Supporting repairs and preventative maintenance on all production equipment as required.
- Follow all BD safety procedures to ensure safety of maintenance personnel, operators, equipment and facility.
- Perform intermediate level repairs to facilities, facility equipment and production equipment.
- Perform assigned preventative maintenance tasks to facilities, facility equipment and production equipment.
- Troubleshoot and perform basic root cause analysis for failures of bearings, chain drives, belt and pulley systems as well as other mechanical systems.
- Assist with complex repairs to further knowledge and advance to the next job level.
- Properly and safely use drill press, lathe, milling machine, welder and various other pieces of shop equipment to fabricate and repair production and facilities equipment.
- Paint and maintain facilities piping systems for gas, air and water.
- Record data for all maintenance workorders for the purpose of predictive failures, PM requirements, man-hour utilization and storeroom stocking of spare parts.
- Troubleshoot basic electrical systems which includes the skilled use of a Multi-Meter to check for proper voltage, open fuses, short circuits or open circuits.
- Change 3 phase motors and reconnect wiring properly.
BekaertDeslee USA Inc. is BekaertDeslee’s production and distribution center for the USA and Canada. BekaertDeslee USA employs about 290 persons and manufactures and sells mattress ticking to the abovementioned markets from its 270,000 sq. ft. plant and 171,000 sq. ft. warehouse. The plant consists of two main buildings with a preparation department for the production of weaving beams, a weave room with 40 jacquard looms, a knitting department with 45 circular knitting machines, a finishing department with 2 Tenter frames and a hot-melt machine, and other necessary equipment and a warehouse.
